Routes accessible in Blue Canyon
To get to Blue canyon area, from Atlin head towards surprise lake.
After passing the cemetary and the gun range on the Surprise lake road, you'll see a pullout on the right. The paved road also turns into gravel here. Take a right hand turn here and cross the bridge across Pine creek. Continue on this road, Spruce creek road, for a few kms, until there is a right hand bend in the main road with an obvious multiple vehicle parking spot on the right. There is a road turning off the main road to the left here. This is left turnoff, is the road to access Blue Canyon. Waypoint attached for this parking lot/left hand turnoff

DOMINION CREEK Return LOOP
Length 13+km
This is a gorgeous Bike or Hike with nice views on the Icefield and Atlin lake
Drive the spruce creek road, to Blue canyon from the Blue canyon parking lot.
To get to the Blue canyon parking lot, take Surprise lake road, and turn right at Pine creek falls, where the road turns to gravel), cross the bridge here and keep going for a few kms, until there is a right hand bend in the road, with a parking area on the right and a turnoff to the left. This is the road you want to take.) Waypoint attached for this parking lot/left hand turnoff
After a few kms on this road you come to an obvious y in the road. Take a right at the Y.
Keep going here for as far as you feel comfortable. At one point there is a left hand bend that goes steep downhill and by some abandoned cabins you cross the creek. from here on the road goes uphill to the Dominion creek plateau. The road is not in the greatest condition here, but with good clearance you can do it. It's a personal choice. You can also start biking from the creek crossing, it just adds time to your trip.
Dominion creek loop is best done left to right.
Please go prepared, the loop takes about 3-4 hours depending on where you start. This is remote country.

Distance: 45 km From the Blue canyon parking lot to the Grotto. PLUS returning to starting point.
Style: Loop
This is a gorgeous loop, or hike. If you have multiple vehicles, you could park one at the Blue Canyon Parking lot and one at the Grotto (Warm Bay).
If you only have one vehicle, you'll have to bike or hitch a ride back to your starting point.
This is a great loop to do as a day trip.
It is also part of our Mountain Superhero route, that takes you from Mc Donald lake road to Warm bay.
